the sun was starting to sink into the ground
the light was almost all the way gone
so she ran and chased after it, chased it until it pooled into blue shadows, reflected off cars and windows
clung to the trees and sidewalks
shone desperately just above the horizon
then finally disappeared
and
died
.

and she cried, but not for long
because she remembered
the sun would shine again
tomorrow,
tomorrow.
it was an eternity to wait.
but you can never wait too long
for a second
chance
